Okay, looks like that fixed. the problem. Thanks for your help! Just out of curiosity, what was happening that was causing that problem in the first place? Was it adding 24ms fragments to the buffer to reach a multiple of 10? And why did 44100 HMz need 10ms multiples? What would it need to be for 48000 (the device connected to the microphone)?
