I am sorry I do not know any specifics on the version. I was somewhere
on 12 and then I installed 14.04 and it has happened since it was
installed.

And I am sorry. I have followed the tutorial to the best of my abilities
but I do not see another boot option in Grub when I restart. I ran dpkg
on the downloaded files, it ran without errors, and it appears that it
is installed (I see them when running dpkg -l | grep "linux\-[a-z]*\-"
). I have done a few Google searches and I cannot find a solution.

What am I missing? How do I boot into the upstream kernel?
