** Description changed: Update Manager will read http://changelogs.ubuntu.com/meta-release and sequentially try to access http://changelogs.ubuntu.com/EOLReleaseAnnouncement for ${release}+1's release notes, however the file on http://changelogs.ubuntu.com/EOLReleaseAnnouncement is missing and Update Manager will complain "Could not find the release notes - The server may be overloaded" error message and interrupt the entire upgrade process. While this bug does appears on EOL release, it's still valid as EOL Upgrade still needs to be working to upgrade to a supported release. ## Bug Reproduce Steps ## 1. Grab & install an EOL'd Ubuntu release(e.g. Ubuntu 14.10) 2. Switch software source to old-releases.ubuntu.com 3. Update software source cache and fully upgrade the system - 4. Run Update Manger and hit the release upgrade button + 4. Run Update Manager and hit the release upgrade button ## Workarounds ## Use `do-release-upgrade` command instead, which don't check the release note
