Without a valid /boot/initrd.img we will not boot today. Are you trying
to remove _all_ the kernels? And/or is there a reason why there is no
active /boot/initrd.img ?

Note this looks like a very old installation, is /boot/initrd.img a
symlink? if not please remove that file, and reinstall any kernel.
