We might be able to prevent this causing the installation to fail by ensuring the server doesn't read config files during installation (but need to test this to verify).
However if that is the case then the issue would be less visible as the server would simply fail to start after installation since the deprecated config values are still there, and will need to be removed from the configuration files I'm not sure what the desired behavior is here, since this is likely to affect a number of people who upgrade from earlier versions of the server. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1567884 Title: package mysql-server-5.7 5.7.11-0ubuntu5 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mysql-5.7/+bug/1567884/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
