Public bug reported:
Each time I tether my android phone it "invents" a new link mac, which
means it appears as a completely new connection.
This disables any possibility to script around it, and also spams the
network-manager connections. See for instance:

For usb devices the old behavior of keeping usb0 (or maybe usp1d1
depending on where it is plugged), should be kept. Else the usb
vendor/product is could be used to keep a stable name
