** Bug 56152 has been marked a duplicate of this bug ** Description changed:
- Distribution: current Edgy + We don't know what went wrong if gksu fails. Either the password dialog + itself failed by provind a wrong password or synaptic could not apply + the changes: - gnome-app-install will forget which packages were marked for - installation if it can't get some of the files, making it hard to retry - getting those files. - - Steps to reproduce: - - - Spend some time searching the magical candy shop that is gnome-app-install for software you want to have and mark them for installation - - Click apply, packages will start to download - - Lose network connection (e.g. unreliable wireless) - - g-a-i will ask you whether you want to install the packages already downloaded. Select no, wanting to retry the download after moving within the wireless' range again. - - g-a-i will re-initialize, all packages marked for installarion will be lost, forcing you to go through the whole list again. - - Expected result: the packages remain marked for installation, as in - synaptic when the same happens. + - failed download + - failed installation/partially installed (returns true) + - falied lock -- add more sanity to the exit states of synapitc https://launchpad.net/bugs/58400 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
