Sebastien, its actually a Thinkpad T61p laptop. That would use an LCD
Panel driver, I'm guessing. I wonder if other T61p users are
experiencing the same ?

I've got sync ranges for 1920x1200 from the modelines section of my
xorg.conf, would that help ?
