Public bug reported:

OpenCOBOL was renamed to GnuCOBOL in the progress of moving to GNU.
People often use `apt-get install gnu-cobol` and wonder why there is no such a
package. Additional the version that `apt-get install open-cobol` installs is
outdated (It is OpenCOBOL 1.1 from Feb 2009 [which is misleadingly marked as
unstable]). The most current release from GnuCOBOL can always be be found at
http://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/gnucobol it currently is
http://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/gnucobol/gnu-cobol-1.1.tar.gz (From Jan 2014). This
version does not only change the name (it has the intermediate spelling GNU
Cobol which was changed to GnuCOBOL shortly after release and will stay this
way) but include multiple bug-fixes and some new features, see
http://opencobol.add1tocobol.com/gnucobol/#what-are-the-differences-between-opencobol-1-1-and-gnucobol-1-1
for a nearly complete list which still omits the details.

Please mark the package containing gnu-cobol-1.1 as stable as it is used in
production and has no stability problems in.
 Thank you for your response,

Simon Sobisch
