I think this issue might also be device-specific. I tried `lubuntu-16.04-desktop-i386.iso` in Virtualbox and "check disc for defects" worked normally. On older laptop I only got blue screen.
I noticed that at one point when I pressed some arrow key with intention of getting out of the splash and see console, the laptop rebooted and when I went to check disc for defects again and pressed arrow key, I started seeing the actual check on console and it finished with no detected defects (like Virtualbox earlier). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1547302 Title: "Check disc for defects" boot option displays no text some flavors To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/casper/+bug/1547302/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
