Another quick and dirty solution is to:
- unplug network cable from client computer (disconnecting machine from network)
- ask user to login (if it has connected recently he/her should be 
authenticated via cache on local machine)
- once logged in and on Desktop, reconnect network cable, to allow acess to 
network ressources

Hope that help as quick fix...
