I have recently found that in the Ubuntu (Unity) 16.04 installer (not
with other flavours though - and it works fine with previous versions)
upon expanding the Terminal output view the design at the bottom goes a
bit strange:

However after the bar has gone to the end and it enters the sort of
stage two where it goes back to the beginning again and starts actually
setting up the system the design error starts looking like this (though
never looks as it should if the Terminal output view is expanded):
