This is an upstream bug in KDE Applications 15.08. Dolphin was ported to KF5 with KDE Applications 15.08. ffmpegthumbs was ported to KF5 with KDE Applications 15.12. See https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=351894#c3. This bug is fixed with KDE Applications 15.12 released with xenial excepted for a mismatch in the path used by Dolphin and ffmpegthumbs for plugins: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ffmpegthumbs/+bug/1574037
