I don't mean to be offensive but that is the solution that one would
need if one were to suggest that a user move to a better supported
distro or commercial OS.

Firstly compiz isn't just eye candy it is tremendously useful for
productivity (read: switcher and scale), secondly insisting that the
user disable grabbing to use gksu(do) IS a security issue because
malware could eavesdrop on the keyboard communication and capture the
password. Thirdly offering an upgrade to a new and freshly bug ridden
release is not exactly what someone who uses Ubuntu for business needs
to hear. Believe it or not some professional sys admins and
administrators actually need to test things before jumping in.

If Microsoft stated that they would NOT fix an issue in XP because Vista
is out there would be villagers with pitchforks and torches at their
gates.

My part of the bargain with Ubuntu is to be an active member of my loco
(I am) to contribute financially to the project (I do) and to evangelize
the OS to my colleagues and people I know (I do this to). The dev &
motu teams part is to actually fix problems in currently supported
versions and not just live for next release cycle.

If I had the talent I would fix the problem myself. If I have to fix
every problem myself Canonical can save a ton of cash by shutting
launchpad down. Either we work to fix bugs or we don't.
