I experience exactly the same as described by vexorian (vexorian). Some further comments: - When executing 'unity' in a terminal, menus become visible. However, upon boot, they are gone again. - My system: clean fresh install of Ubuntu 16.04 (64 Bit), GPU: nVidia GeForce 8400M GS
