Public bug reported:

Installed 16.04 fresh install after 15.10 was working fine. After install
everything was fine.
My system is Asus X-99 deluxe motherboard with intel 5930K processor, eVGA
Nvidia 980 GTX graphics card, Running of intel 530 ssd. System is dualboot
with windows 10 using UEFI and secure boot.
After installing the nvidia tested driver it changes resolution to something
like 640x480 at the login screen (gdm) but otherwise it works fine after reboot.
However if I try to login, it starts and then I get a blank desktop and logouts
to the gdm login screen instead of logging into my desktop. I can not login
into my desktop. It kicks me out to the gdm login screen if I try.
Unfortunately Ubuntu 14.04 will not install on that newer hardware or I would
use it.

     Importance: Undecided
