Public bug reported: Ubuntu provides the thrift compiler, bit not the run-time support library, so C++ applications using thrift cannot be built.
This impacts ScyllaDB (http://github.com/scylladb/scylla) and the C++ driver for Apache Cassandra (https://github.com/datastax/cpp-driver).
