Public bug reported:
gtk softwares need gio to be able to do things like getting access to
non local urls, proxy, dconf settings (though that's another topic
needing more work, ...)
if you want that to work you need to
- include the gio plugins (gvfs, dconf, proxy, ...)
- generate a cache (or ship a static one in the source and copy it)
- set the environment variable GIO_MODULE_DIR=$SNAP/usr/lib/$ARCH/gio/modules
ideally snapcraft would do that for you
