For me the problem only appears when watching videos with the ubuntu
webbrowser. With firefox videos have no offset and the controls are
visible. Unity itself has no overscanning, because the indicatorpanel is
visible. I have two screenshots which compare the same video on the
ubuntu webbrowser and on firefox. The first one is from the ubuntu
webbrowser.
