Hi,
Alex brought that up on my radar by his post.
Also these days basic syncing of your system is done via systemd provided
facilities.
That said still the original request has a valid whish of "how to
disable/avoid" running ntpdate on every ifup.
And thereby the "remaining" request is is a dup of bug 1206164.
