Well now I had the hang issue ok using the cstate work around for three days. Then I discovered my manage would not shut down unless I hard killed it. I tried all the terminal commands but nothing worked. My machine has an Intel Pentium N3540 processor and intel graphics. an Acer E511 with 8GB ram. The machine works perfect on my Windows 10, the other part of my dual boot. I am getting frustrated with the problems on this LTS to say the least.
