I'm co-ordinating the gophp7-ext initiative, if there are still some extensions missing, can you let me know which ones? I'm not aware of very many major extensions in pecl that don't have an update available at this point. Modern PHP 5 code will run on PHP 7 with few or no amendments - adoption for most companies will be well within the timescale of this ubuntu LTS release and the next one so the PHP 7 version is the right choice IMO.
