I cannot reproduce this issue in:
(1) a clean 6.06 install from a Kubuntu live cd,
(2) a clean 6.06.1 install from a Kubuntu live cd,
(3) a clean 6.10 Knot 3 install from an Ubuntu live cd
(4) a 6.10 current install dist-upgraded from a Xubuntu 6.06.1 live cd
(5) a 6.10 current install dist-upgraded from an Ubuntu 4.10 install
