i was able to fix it by completely removing compiz and reinstalling it..but after I uninstalled compiz, the desktop was totally screwed up. the title-bar was still missing but the top panel woulbe super imposed by an open window's menu...none of the mouse clicks to activate windows worked. to activate a window...click on a window...while its still inactive press alt-F or something relevant to bring up a menu item..that would activate it.
These details might be irrelevant but i dont have a bug trace report so, i am trying to give as much information as possible. Appreciate the great work you guys do., keep it up.
