does 'sudo lsof' show any results for those files?
If not, I guess try simply moving them:
sudo mv /etc/group+ /etc/group+.bak
sudo mv /etc/group- /etc/group-.bak
sudo mv /etc/gshadow- /etc/gshadow-.bak
