Sorry, I am so bad at explaining. I know there is the option of going to
some IPs through the VPN, others open, or vice versea.

I am sitting behind the Great Firewall of China, which is run by what
may well be the worlds most paranoid censors outside North Korea (which
banned the Internet and moble phones altogether), who sometimes even
block weather.com, who log all in- and out emails and chats, blogs,
whatever, block news by keywords and sometimes even block their own
sites from being accessed by the rest of the world. I hope you get the
picture.

So I want all, absolutely every single packet to go exclusively and only
through the VPN. No options wanted, particularly not local domain
servers.

Under Feisty network-manager OpenVPN did just that. All packets went
through the VPN, the DNS in resolv.conf was replaced by the VPNs and
everything was wonderful.

Now, under Gutsy, OpenVPN still does its job as before, but the domains
do not resolve anymore. That is the issue.
