Unfortunately, I don't think it's possible for this report to make progress unless you can specify exactly what settings you are using, what settings your device requires, and exactly how you are configuring minicom to determine that it doesn't work. Keep in mind that most developers do not have access to exactly your model of switch, but any bug in minicom is likely to be related to general serial communication and not exactly that switch.
