------- Comment From [email protected] 2016-05-10 13:22 EDT------- (In reply to comment #27) For LUKS being applied to LVM disk, it still boots to stay at a black (background) screen where key input is echoed (in white for front color) but nothing happens to continue, with the ISO builds up to May 10, 2016 at: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-server/xenial/daily/current/xenial-server-ppc64el.iso
As before, there is a work-around to start the system by booting from Recovery Mode (with which passphrase input is OK) then Resume Normal Boot. Besides, recent ubuntu 16.04 and 16.10 builds have a wrong initial terminal mode for the tty1 to boot the system, with which <Enter> key does not work (^J OK) and other keys display with an extra leading '^[' (for example, 'a' displays as '^[a', and '1' as '^[1') at the beginning. Eventually, the terminal mode can be corrected after hitting different keys many times (I can not figure out what keys sequence fixs the problem), therefore the passphrase is able to be entered and the system is brought up. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1503826 Title: Boot hangs in blank for no way to enter LVM passphrase at kimchi/virsh console To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/plymouth/+bug/1503826/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
