I looked into this a bit today and talked to tedg, who has deep
knowledge of the various dbus menu systems. In short, AppMenu doesn't
seem to be used by anything other than unity7 itself to register menus,
which is consistent with my experience trying a few disparate apps (qml,
gnome and libreoffice). As such, I'm going to mark AppMenu support as
"Won't Fix" for now, but if the analysis turns our wrong, we can add
AppMenu DBus API support to the unity7 interface at that time.
Note: 2.0.3 should have better dbus menu support for typical
applications, but I'm preparing a PR for the eventual 2.0.4 release that
should work with all applications (eg, libreoffice).
