Steps to reproduce:
1. Launch byobu
2. Split the window (Shift-F2)
3. Send command to all splits (Shift-F9)
4. Type: for x in 1 2 3; do echo $x; done
Expected results:
Both splits show 1 2 3
Actual results:
Both splits show three empty lines, because the $ has been lost
somewhere
