Hmm, this may only be a problem with cabal-install 1.24, which is passing along ghc’s CFLAGS (-fno-PIE -fno-stack-protector) but not its LDFLAGS (-no-pie) to the configure script. cabal-install 1.22 passes neither. I’ll keep investigating.
