I've already tested it with a vanilla 4.6.0 kernel, see posting #1.

Good point! I've updated the BIOS to the latest version:

root@x61:~# dmidecode -s bios-version && dmidecode -s bios-release-date
8AET65WW (1.45 )

but unfortunately the bug remains.
