Ubuntu 16.04 problem: Not auto-mount CD-R ISO9660 2XA (multi-session or
open) instead the CR-R ISO9660 Mode 1 or CDR music or DVD movies or CD-R
blank, are automatically mounted without any problems. I tried the Live
version of Ubuntu 16.04 with the same result, whereas the Live 14.04
version works perfectly. I upgraded the firmware on the CD-ROM model
"HL-DT-ST DVD-RAM GH24NS70 ATA Device" and the Ubuntu 16.04 continues
the same problem. This same unit CR-ROM I have tested on Windows and
works perfectly CD-R (mode 1 and mode 2).
I changed the CR-ROM drive for another model more updated and the same
problem persists for Ubuntu 16.04. But if you manually mount a CD-ROM
with "sudo mount -t iso9660 /dev/cdrom /media/cdtest" is mounted and can
access its content perfectly.
