The xenial proposed updates to network manger are crashing the plasma
networks app.
The following packages were updated that are causing the crash:
libkf5networkmanagerqt6 (5.18.0-0ubuntu1) to 5.18.0-0ubuntu1.2
libnm-glib4 (1.2.0-0ubuntu0.16.04.1) to 1.2.0-0ubuntu0.16.04.2
libnm-util2 (1.2.0-0ubuntu0.16.04.1) to 1.2.0-0ubuntu0.16.04.2
libnm0 (1.2.0-0ubuntu0.16.04.1) to 1.2.0-0ubuntu0.16.04.2
network-manager (1.2.0-0ubuntu0.16.04.1) to 1.2.0-0ubuntu0.16.04.2
The error is:
kf5.kded: Could not load kded module "networkmanagement":"Cannot load library
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/plugins/kf5/kded/networkmanagement.so:
(/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libplasmanm_editor.so: undefined symbol:
_ZN14NetworkManager11WimaxDevice16staticMetaObjectE)" (library path
was:"/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/plugins/kf5/kded/networkmanagement.so")
Temporary fix:
To downgrade to a working version connect to the Internet by wire and run
sudo apt-get install libkf5networkmanagerqt6=5.18.0-0ubuntu1
libnm-glib4=1.1.93-0ubuntu4 libnm-util2=1.1.93-0ubuntu4 libnm0=1.1.93-0ubuntu4
network-manager=1.1.93-0ubuntu4
Than reboot.
Be careful to not upgrade these packages again.
