I notice you're getting this backtrace in your log:

Fatal server error:
Caught signal 11. Server aborting
I also notice you're running a non-stock xserver:
xorg-server 2:1.3.0.0.dfsg-12ubuntu1-jbs1
I don't know what's in jbs1, but we're up to -12ubuntu8, which contains
fixes for a variety of mesa/GL problems. Also, we've today released a
new -ati driver, version 1:6.7.194-1ubuntu2.
Can you please install and test with these newer versions? If it still
locks up, could you also attach the output from lspci -vvnn?
