Same problem here. I wanted to migrate from Ubuntu 12.04.04 LTS to 16.04 and installed a new Ubuntu 16.04 LTS on a second SSD for testing on the same hardware. I was not moving my laptop in space during the testing. Both tests were performed on battery on 5GHZ wifi connected to a AVM Fritzbox 7490 router.
