Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: tracker

trackerd seems to have dealt with most of the interactivity issues;
this is good. (It I/O impact is only noticeable with a package-manager
is trying to install something now).

The next problem is that trackerd still runs at maximum I/O; which
causes the hard-disk to do something intensive and continually.

In this ThinkPad T60, the hard-disk is underneath my right-hand palm and
gets painfully hot.

The amount of time I can bare to leave 'trackerd' running is now
impacted by the thermal capacity for my skin to act as a heat sink.
It's currently in the region of 3-5minutes. The heat generated in that
time takes 10-30minutes to dissipate before typing becomes pleasant
again.

Note: this is already with the Index Speed gets to '20' (slowest).

If I run 'trackerd' from the command line, I get:

  Initialising tracker...
Could not set idle IO priority...attempting best effort 7 priority
  Throttle level is 20

Is this perhaps a contributor?

** Affects: tracker (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
