Hmm, looks like it's not completely fixed on 4.4.0-23 after all. HP EliteBook 840 G3 has DisplayPort and VGA connectors. With VGA connector everything works fine but with DP I get a freeze when disconnecting the cable and sometimes when changing mode between mirror, extended, 1 display configurations.
