The Debian maintainer is too busy to take care of the package. There's
a user-contributed packaging at git://git.breakpoint.cc/bigeasy/xz-
utils-debian.git that the maintainer gave a nod of approval and then sat
on it for lamost half a year now. This should have shipped in Xenial
already. Ubuntu should act now instead of waiting endlessly for an
important feature in xz (multi-threading to take advantage of multiple
cores to do the heavy lifting).

** Description changed:

Willy is currently using a really old version of xz-utils. The latest
- version at this time is 5.2.1 released on 2015-02-26
+ version at this time is 5.2.2, released in September 2015. With multi-
+ core support it adds an important feature for xz.
