Using: Xubuntu 16.04 LTS (Fresh Install + Updated)
Once booted up and logged in, disabling and enabling wifi through the
network manager applet works fine, but through terminal, it does not
give a proper icon on the applet when connected (shows ethernet instead
of wifi bars), does not list nearby connections (and the one connected
to as well, just showing a "Wi-Fi Networks" text).
Workaround for this is to restart network manager service, then both
terminal (until reboot) and applet method of toggling works properly.
Doing a restart, when the wifi is disabled, results
"WiFi Chip Name"
"disconnected"
that will show up in the applet, unable to be turned on.
Somehow, ethernet went into that state as well.
