I have:

$ lsb_release -rd
Description:    Ubuntu 16.04 LTS

Changed to XFCE desktop, removed most Unity apps and installed some
additional gnome apps.

$ apt-cache policy evince
evince:

When starting evince in terminal:

$ evince

Trying to install it:

$ sudo apt install libgnome-desktop-3-10
