There are quite a few commits that may also need to be reverted from 3.13 to the 4.2 kernel. There is nothing evident that commit 89fb4cd1f does that can be easily identified the the Wily and newer code.
It may be best to narrow down the specific kernel version that contains the second offending commit. To start, I build a Utopic(3.16) based kernel with commit 89fb4cd1f reverted. Can you test this kernel to see if it still exhibits the bug?
