Hi,

The issue is actually very simple. Please ingore my praise on 15.04's
seeming better performance on bit rate as compared to 12.04's. The
credit should go to my Verizon Quantum router.

I think we should totally ignore Ubuntu 16.04 here as it's so new. I
installed 15.04 out of curiosity two months ago and immediately noticed
two obvious abnormal system problems. When I used 'sudo poweroff -h now'
or 'sudo reboot', 15.04 would just kept on moving its blinker from left
to right endlessly. I'm surprised that you have not heard about this
well known bug online.

But my computer has been doing all right again after reverting to good
old Ubuntu 12.04 and all my aliases are working as usual.

Both 15.04 and 16.04 would output "Too many parameters" when I tried to
use some of my 12-04-created aliases.

I hope my explanation here is sufficiently simple and clear.
