Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager
I'm running gutsy beta 1. I have a mustek usb UPS and the package
nut-hal-drivers (from debian repos) installed (needed to let hal find the UPS).
When i boot my pc and log in into gnome i can't see any GPM icon in the systray
(GPM autostart is enabled in System->Preferences->Sessions). The UPS is
detected though because if i disconnect the AC plug i see a notification
informing me of the event.
If i manually kill GPM process and then restart it (by simply typing
gnome-power-manager in a shell) the ups icon is magically shown: it
reports wheter the ups is in charge or discharge and tells me the % of
charge of the ups battery.
So, GPM is not showing the icon at first start but it shows the icon if
I manually restart it.
** Affects: gnome-power-manager (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
