Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xgl
When using the Xgl server, scrolling on windows makes a strange noise (sound noise, not visual noise). The noise can also be heard briefly during some Xgl intensive tasks, e.g. opening a window. This noise doesn't sound like the one the hard drive makes, or any the CPU would do under heavy load (which is none in my case). I had this problem on Feisty using an unofficial Xgl package, and it's happening again on Ubuntu Gutsy Beta up-to-date with xserver-xgl from the official repos (version 1:1.1.99.1~git20070727-0ubuntu3). This happens using either Metacity or Compiz. This problem has been reported on the Ubuntu Forums: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=532889. ** Affects: xserver-xgl (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Xgl causes noise when scrolling https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/150130 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
