So, I've doubled checked image is x64, the machine boots in UEFI only,
install device starts in UEFI mode (tried with USB key and DVD), uname
-a in the live session indicates 4.4.0 kernel and amd64 architecture.

I then start ubiquity, target kernel is correctly installed (it seems):
4.4.0-24-generic (amd64) and a open-up appears about installer having
crashed. Trace in the term shows that the problem is with grub
installer.

So, nothing new - except double checked. What is strange though is that
- still under the live session and after the crash, under
/target/usr/lib/grub there's only grub-mkconfig_lib and i386-pc. A X64
version should have x86_64-efi and x86_64-efi_signed, right?
