So, I've doubled checked image is x64, the machine boots in UEFI only, install device starts in UEFI mode (tried with USB key and DVD), uname -a in the live session indicates 4.4.0 kernel and amd64 architecture.
I then start ubiquity, target kernel is correctly installed (it seems): 4.4.0-24-generic (amd64) and a open-up appears about installer having crashed. Trace in the term shows that the problem is with grub installer. So, nothing new - except double checked. What is strange though is that - still under the live session and after the crash, under /target/usr/lib/grub there's only grub-mkconfig_lib and i386-pc. A X64 version should have x86_64-efi and x86_64-efi_signed, right? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1594150 Title: Ubuntu 16.04 installer crashes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub-installer/+bug/1594150/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
