ok, ok - call me dumb. finally got it to boot from safe graphics mode. But had to take this path a number of times before it would complete a successful installation. Keep getting a signal failure to the LCD monitor. The installation failed at various stages. Was stubborn enough to keep trying until finally got it. My problem now is the screen resolution. Under monitor maintenance there is no mention of my monitor (BENQ FP92W), not can I get 1440x900 resolution.
