Public bug reported:

I am using gutsy. When I installed tribe 5, I could configure a network
printer (a ricoh aficio 2051 pcl) and gutsy would automatically chose a
driver for me, I just had to chose protocol and hostname. This seemed to
be a huge improvement with respects to feisty, however the default
driver choice was plain wrong. I couldn't print double sided and quality
was bad.

I don't remember which driver I chose at the time, but with a little
trial and error I succeded in printing. Now, with current gutsy, I chose
the network printer, and no driver or printer is automatically chosen. I
am left with a list of printers. In feisty, it was the same, however,
under "ricoh" I could find each printer ricoh ever made, including mine,
and it was easy to set up the printer manually.

In gutsy, my printer is not listed, I have aficio 220, aficio 700 and
another couple of printers. I am an experienced user, however I have to
randomly chose one, and the choice does not work, I've tried many setups
but print quality is awful, even if I set higher quality in the driver
options.

Please notice: In feisty, I have the "hpijs" driver, and printing is
perfect, so it's not a connection/printer problem. In gutsy, also the
hpijs driver does not work.

In the current state of things, I am completely unable to set-up a
network printer from gutsy. We have to solve this before release.
