Public bug reported:
7.04 will not boot HP WorkS. PII Xeon slot 2 [1cpu], integrated scsi,
Ultra-ata-33, AdaptecAIC7880 PCI scsi controller, Symbios Logic 875XS/D,
2280xPCI scsi adapter 53C875, 53876 Device, ELSA Gloria AGP 8MB sgram.
DamnSmallL & FeatherL have booted this HP, but only really bad VGA.
Vers of SLAX do like 7.04. I've tried a lot of Linuxes on this HP, and
DSL & Feather have come the closest. I think Blue Floppy booted and
ran; got online with modem, and used BF's little gui browser--but I may
be remembering something else.
Have tried all recommended live boot starts. Vmlinuz, etc., loads runs,
to READY. System stops. Stops reading cd. The cd boots a PII Sony,
but runs so slow it's not worth the effort to load. It's somewhat
faster on a AMD64 laptop 1.5GBram, but still not worth it. I've been
looking for a Linux to run the HP for some time. It's my base sys, and
I want the rest of my computers to run the same sys.
Thanx,
Jake
