A provisional solution to this bug is to manually create the temporary folder for K3b (e.g. 'user-kde') in the '/tmp' directory of your Linux OS. To know the precise name of this folder (red ellipse on the attached picture) check on the 'Image' tab of the window that pops up when trying to burn the CD.
